I build and break real infrastructure

Cybersecurity student and IT support technician. I learn how networks and systems actually work by running a multi-site homelab and building my own security tools from a bare board up.

01 — Selected work

Things I actually built and run.

Not coursework slides. Hardware, networks, and tools that stay powered on.

P.01 In development

Pigadget

A handheld wireless security toolkit I built on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, driven by a custom menu interface on a tiny LCD. Written in Python for hands-on learning of Linux internals, embedded hardware, and how wireless networks hold up under inspection. Built strictly for education and authorized testing.

P.02 Always on

Multi-site Homelab

A virtualized lab running on Proxmox across two physical sites, tied together with a site-to-site VPN and an OPNsense firewall. Segmented internal networks let me run self-hosted services and safely experiment with monitoring, routing, and isolation the way a real network behaves.

P.03 Running

Automation & Local AI

Self-hosted automation pipelines and locally-run AI services on my own hardware, so the data never leaves the network. I use them to replace manual, repetitive tasks and to explore what private, dependency-free tooling can do without reaching for a cloud API.

02 — About

I like the scale and weight of real systems.

I am a cybersecurity student at Walla Walla University and an IT help desk technician on campus, where I troubleshoot real hardware, network, and account issues every day. Away from the desk, I build and break things in my homelab to understand how infrastructure actually holds together.

What pulls me in is taking something that ran badly and optimizing it until it works the way it should, then documenting it well enough that someone else could reproduce it. My near-term goal is a network administrator role, with a longer pull toward offensive security and system analysis.

03 — The path

A plan I revisit every semester.

Certifications spread out on purpose, free ones first.

  1. Fall 2026

    CompTIA Network+

Networking fundamentals — the foundation everything else sits on.

  2. Spring / Summer 2027

    CompTIA Security+

Threats, risk, and compliance. Core security grounding.

  3. Summer / Fall 2027

    Cisco CCNA

Routing, switching, enterprise networking. After an internship.

  4. Winter 2028

    B.S. Cybersecurity

Walla Walla University. Then deeper into security.

04 — Contact

Let's build something, or talk shop.

Open to internships in network security and IT, and always up for a good infrastructure conversation.
